As far back as he remembers, Taylor “The Bomber” Barton wanted to be a NASCAR® racecar driver, and he is well on his way to achieving that dream. Since he began racing motorcycles at the age of six, Taylor has consistently displayed the natural talent, passion and dedication throughout his life for racing.
Taylor’s path to professional racing began at 14 when he won a GO Karts Rookie of the Year and Series Championship. Since then he steadily progressed through the racing ranks, participating in Semi-Pro and Pro Legends series, earning numerous titles.
In 2005 Taylor achieved his dream of becoming a NASCAR® driver and began racing at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway NASCAR® Super Late Model division, debuting in the NASCAR® Whelen All-American Series. He also became the sole owner of Barton Racing and moved into the premier division at Las Vegas Motor Speedway Bullring. Also in 2005, Barton Racing acquired amazing and supportive sponsors, helping Taylor win the Rookie of the Year award, and from 2006 to 2009, there were multiple victories for Barton Racing, including three wins over Kyle Busch.
In the 2009 season, Taylor took first place two times and was in the top five for the remaining races. The end of the season found Taylor in the top three racers overall, as well as third in point standings for 2009. With victories and stats like these, Taylor is poised to become a NASCAR® Cup driver, much like other Las Vegas-native NASCAR® drivers before him, such as Kurt and Kyle Busch and Brendan Gaughan.
For the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West 2010 season, Taylor is consistently finishing in the top ten. In 2011 Taylor’s goal is to move into the NASCAR Truck Series with appearances in the Nationwide and ARCA series, forming a clear path of experience to the NASCAR Cup Series.
